Day 1 - Luang Prabang arrival
Arrive and be welcomed at Luang Prabang Airport by your guide. Check in to the hotel where the room is at your disposal from 13.30. Spend the rest of day free at your leisure relax or explore the city. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2 - Luang Prabang (B)
Visit this city found on the left bank of the Mekong River. Previously a religious capital, Luang Prabang showcases more than 100 temples, considered amongst the most beautiful in Laos. In particular, you will discover:
Vat Xieng Thong or Temple of the Royal City - a vast collection of sacred buildings and the most beautiful temple in the city.
Vat May - built at the end of the 18th century, a capped sanctuary featuring a five sided roof surmounted by three parasols.
Vat Visoun - the oldest temple in the city with its wooden windows inspired by the Khmer Temple of Vat Phou.
Vat Aham - located just beside Vat Visoun, framed by two large Banyan trees.
Vat Senna - the first monastery whose roof was to be covered with yellow and red tiles.
At the end of the afternoon, climb Mount Phousi Mount to admire the sunset and then discover the H’mong Night Market on your way back to your hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 


Day 3 - Luang Prabang (B,L)
In the morning, you will visit the Royal Palace, which is today the National Museum before heading off to Khuang Sy waterfall on a return journey of around 70km. The road is bordered by villages and rice fields. Stop in some of these villages and have a countryside lunch at the waterfall. These places are frequently visited by locals and villagers. You can take a swim in the waterfall (if  weather permits) which scatters into many basins. Return to Luang Prabang and continue to visit the city. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 4 - Luang Prabang - Mekong River Cruise - Pakbeng (B,L)
Go to the pier and join a traditional boat to cruise along the Mekong River. Visit the sacred caves of Pak Ou, which shelter hundreds of Buddha statuettes. Continue up river to Pakbeng, enjoying the beautiful countryside. Numerous villages are found on the Mekong’s riverbanks and you will have lunch on board and arrive at Pakbeng at the end of the day. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

 

Day 5 - Pakbeng - Muang La (B,L,D)
The morning is devoted to visiting the Mekong Elephant Camp. You will cross the Mekong River to attend a show of elephant bathing. And then you will take a 2 hour elephant ride through the villages of the many ethnic groups before returning to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon depart for Oudomxay which is surrounded by a range of mountains spreading over China, Vietnam and Laos. Along the road, you will visit villages inhabited by Lu and Khmou hill tribes. After 3 and a half hour of driving (including some short stops) we will reach Oudom Xay District - in the centre of Northern Laos. The area is a gorgeous mix of green landscapes and mountains view, and a lot of local communities live there. Arrive and check in to your lodge in Muang La in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 6 - Muang La (B,L,D)
Depart in the morning by a 4x4 vehicle to meet Ikhos and H’Mong villagers – two typical communities of Laos. The track you will use is superb and offers an incredible climb up to 1,000m where you will have a memorable and unique view point. You will visit first the beautiful and isolated village of Ikhos. This community from Yunna and Tibet has remained extremely traditional. Lunch will be taken whilst enjoying a magnificient view. After lunch visit the H’Mong village of Ban Tauser (a 45 minute walk). This ethnic group, originating from the high steppes of Tibet, still has many traditional customs. You will return back to the lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

 

Day 7 - Muang La - Oudomxay - Vientiane (B)
The morning is free to relax in the hotel's hot spring pond. Meet up with your guide at midday for the transfer back to Oudomxay Airport where you will take your short flight to Vientiane. On arrival transfer to your hotel for check. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Remark: Flight Oudomxay - Vientiane is available on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only.

 


Day 8 - Vientiane (B)
This morning is devoted to explore Vientiane the capital city of Laos. Highlights include:
Vat Sisaket - which, in spite of the Siamese influence, presents an architecture all of its own. The largest temple in Vientiane, it is considered the most beautiful and its old ‘Bangkok’ style has indeed saved it from destruction.

Vat Phra Keo - built in 1565 celebrates the Emerald Buddha it shelters. It was rebuilt identically in 1942. Located in a pretty garden, it shelters the Buddha under sloping, superb carved wood panels.

Pha That Louang - a cloister guarding a large stupa that was saved when the city was raided by the Siamese. Damaged by the Ho plunderers Ho in 1873, it was restored by the French in 1930. It has become the symbol of the nation, representing both Buddhism and Lao’s sovereignty. This large relic is a masterpiece of Laotian architecture.

At the end of the afternoon, walk along the Mekong River. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 


Day 9 - Vientiane - Flight to Pakse - Vat Phou Temple - Khong Island (B,L)
Leave at around 06.00am for an early morning flight from Vientiane to Pakse. Upon arrival take a private transfer to Vat Phou Temple passing by some peaceful countryside. Vat Phou Temple is an interesting architectural collection of pre-Angkorian times. This will remind you that the region was once part of the kingdom of Tchen-La in the Khmer nation. Have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, keep driving until Ban Phiengdy where we will cross the Mekong River to reach Khong Island. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 10 - Khong island (B,L)
Go by dugout canoe through Si Phane Done (the region of 4,000 islands). Cross to Done Det Island and then via bridge to Done Kone. Visit Ban Khone Fishing Village and stop at the ruins of French railway tracks and the old locomotive. Have lunch on the way and then walk to Liphi Falls (a local bus is available for those that would prefer this option). Return to Khong Island by boat and spend some free time to stroll through the village. You can simply relax or take a bicycle ride for further exploration of the area. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 11 - Khong island - Pakse - Ubon Ratchathani (Thailand) - departure (B)
Cross the Mekong and then take the road south to Pa Peng Falls (close to the Cambodian border) where fishermen often do fishing in the impressive rapids. Travel by road back to Pakse and stop along the way to visit Ou Mong Ruins. Leave for Chongmek, on the Thailand border. After immigration formalities, continue to Ubon Ratchathani Airport (from Chongmek you will travel without a guide) where you will take your onward flight to Bangkok. Meals on your own. 1. What should I do if I want to book a tour but cannot pay immediately?

When watching tour on the websites, if you want to book a tour but cannot pay immediately, you can definitely book that tour in advance. We would record the tour on our system. Then we will contact you via email to discuss payment issues. And you need to pay in advance 30% of the invoice value to ensure that you will use our service.

2. How do I know that my booking is confirmed?

After you have booked our tour, there will be an automatic email sent to your email which you used to book your tour. It is a confirmation of our company to notify that the booking process have been successfully stored. Within 2 working days, our representative will make a conversation with you via email or telephone call. The itinerary along with detailed information about your tour will be specified during this process.

3. What if I have special requirements for the tour?

In our online booking form, there would be a blank box which is offered to the visitor, who has special needs. It so called Special Requirements. By filling this blank, you will be ensured that our company would try our best to make you the most comfortable days without worrying anything.

4. The manner and method of payment?

10. Can I make a reservation for my friends or my family members?

Yes, you can. If you are a person who pays for and participates in the tour, you won’t need to worry about this. In case you want to make a reservation for your friends or family members, you should follow our instruction. In other words, this means you pay for it but you don’t come along with the tour. In that case, we offer you a blank space which is “Customer information”. That is the name of a person who pays for the tour. Right below that space, there is “How can we contact you in Vietnam”. Please fill in the blank with any person that you intend to book a tour for.
After completing the payment procedure online, you will receive an email in which a form is attached. Then, you fill in the form with the personal information of your friends or family members. After that, we can acknowledge all the necessary information.
