Cambodia to hold Sea Festival 2014

Cambodia is going to organize the Sea Festival 2014 from Dec. 5 to 7 in the coastal province of Koh Kong, some 270 kilometers southwest of Phnom Penh capital city.

A preparatory meeting for the 2014 Sea Festival, the third of its kind, has been held recently in Koh Kong under the presidency of H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism.

The meeting laid stress on the places to hold the annual event as well as on security, safety and sanitation enforcement.

This festival, which includes foods expo, art performances, sports events, and so on, is aimed at disseminating the tourism potentiality of Cambodian beaches listed since June 2011 as a World’s Most Beautiful Bay.

The first Sea Festival was held in Preah Sihanouk province, while the second in Kep province.

Coastal areas are one of Cambodia’s major tourism destinations after Phnom Penh capital city and Siem Reap cultural province, home to Angkor temples.
